One of the most powerful tools I use in my design process is 3D visuals. Before any demolition begins, my clients get to step inside their future space—visually, emotionally, and practically. They can see how the materials work together, how the layout flows, and how the room will feel once it’s complete. It takes the guesswork out of remodeling and replaces it with clarity and confidence.
These renderings also make the bidding process dramatically smoother. Instead of relying on vague descriptions or assumptions, remodelers receive a fully detailed, clearly specified design. That means my clients get true apples-to-apples bids, and everyone involved is pricing the exact same vision. No surprises, no misunderstandings, and no “I thought that was included” moments.
What this bathroom lacked most was thoughtful use of space. The original layout was working against the homeowner rather than for them. A tiny 40″ x 40″ corner shower felt cramped and outdated, while the oversized garden tub dominated the room without offering any real value. And the window placed directly in the middle of the vanity—well, that was a design puzzle all on its own.
By removing the tub and rethinking the footprint, we were able to give the homeowner exactly what they needed: a spacious, luxurious walk-in shower and a more functional, intuitive flow throughout the room. Even better, reducing the bathroom’s footprint allowed us to enlarge the adjacent space and create a cozy sitting area off the owner’s suite. This is the kind of win-win that great space planning makes possible.
Maximizing the Space
The new layout prioritizes comfort, accessibility, and everyday ease:
- A generous walk-in shower replaced the cramped corner unit, offering room to move, relax, and enjoy the experience rather than squeeze into it.
- A built-in bench and recessed niche add both function and beauty, giving the shower a spa-like feel while keeping essentials within reach.
- A long, uninterrupted vanity provides ample counter space and storage—no more awkward window placement dictating the design.
- Clear sightlines and intentional flow make the room feel larger, calmer, and more cohesive.
Every inch now works with purpose.
Design That Elevates the Experience
Once the layout was right, it was time to focus on the design elements. This bathroom is a perfect example of how materials, texture, and thoughtful details can transform a space:
- Porcelain tile, that looks like marble, brings timeless elegance and visual continuity from floor to shower.
- A bold botanical wallpaper adds personality and warmth, softening the stone and giving the room a curated, boutique-hotel feel.
- A vessel sink paired with a sculptural faucet creates a beautiful focal point at the vanity.
- Mixed finishes and layered textures—from the mosaic backsplash to the granite bench—add depth and richness without overwhelming the space.
- Glass shower walls keep the room open and airy, allowing the design elements to flow seamlessly.
The result is a bathroom that feels luxurious yet livable, polished yet personal.
At the end of the day, the best rooms are the ones that make you feel something. This bathroom now feels calm, intentional, and beautifully tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle. It’s proof that when you combine smart space planning with thoughtful design, you can completely change the way a home lives.
